Shell Stitch Bag Holder

Materials:
G Crochet Hook
Kitchen towel
1/4" elastic 2 pieces - 1 - 7" and 1 - 4"

Fold over each piece of elastic to make a circle and tack ends together. You will have a large circle and a small circle.

Fold in half length wise with right sides together and sew along side edge to make a tube. Turn tube right side out. Trim off any fringe that may be on the top and bottom of the towel.

Top Edge: Fold over edge 1/4" - ½ " and work around this edge by pushing hook into towel nap. You will use the 7" elastic circle here.

Rnd 1: Sc 40 sts evenly spaced around the folded over edge. Sl st in 1st sc to join.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, sc in each sc around. Sl st in 1st sc to join.

Rnd 3: Ch 1, hold elastic circle so you can crochet around it while also crocheting in the last sc row. Sc in same st as joining, sc in each sc around. Sl st in 1st sc to join.

Rnd 4: Ch 10, sc in same st as joining, skip 1 sc, 5 dc in next sc, *skip 1 sc, sc in next sc, skip 1 sc, 5 dc in next sc, repeat from * around. Sl st in first ch and fasten off.

Bottom Edge: Do this the same as the top edge except for the following exceptions.

Use 4" elastic circle. On Rnd 4 only ch 1 instead of 10.

Fasten off and weave in ends. Stuff with plastic grocery bags and hang by ch 10 loop.
